Sailing in the Pontine Islands/Bay of Naples
The Pontine Islands off the Italian Coast of Naples are one of the jewels of Mediterranean cruising. Stretching from
-
Ponza
-
Ventotone,
-
Ischia, and
-
Capri
there is still all of the Amalfi coast to explore not to mention the Bay of Naples itself.
Unpleasantly congested in season, in May, June, September and even into October, they are strikingly beautiful. Marina prices are high, and it is a longish crossing to get there from either Sardinia or Sicily, but well worth the trip if you can.
